AIM / OCN (Open College Network) Courses
The AIM qualification is overseen by Ofqual, and is nationally recognised in the National Education Framework. It teaches the skills necessary to groom dogs with different types of coat, and teaches the students how to use a variety of equipment and increase their knowledge in various styles of grooming. Students will have an opportunity to learn canine first aid and gain knowledge of the health and wellbeing of different breeds of dog, as well as acquiring competence in the Dog Grooming workplace.
This qualification is for those wishing to become professional dog groomers and for groomers who don’t currently hold a nationally recognised qualification.
The course will cover:
- Styling and finishing of a dog
- Health check of a dog
- Promote & maintain the well-being and health of dogs
- Plan and record dog grooming work
- A certificate in pet handling and pet First Aid (FREE)
- Canine First Aid
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Customer relations: welcome, receive and care for customers

All students on this course will receive the personal equipment pack which a large selection of grooming equipment.
